Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
Order of Protection
Can a person in Georgia get an order of protection from a person who continually harasses, but has not threatened them physically? Must a criminal charge be brought against the harasser first?
I am being bothered, sometimes five or six times a day, at work and at home, by someone who ''won't take go away for an answer''. I have repeatedly asked them not to call or come to my home, but they ignore my requests. This is a relative of mine. I'm afraid the only command to stop he will respect is a restraining order. Is this possible without getting him arrested?

Re: Order of Protection
You may obtain a restraining order without also requesting a warrant for arrest. And you do not need physical harm for a restraining order.
