Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

personal loan repayment

I recently loaned some money to my X Husband with the agreement that he would pay the money back in weekly installments. Since this time he has decided that he doesnt have to pay the money back and Im not sure if I have any legal means to collect the money. I should include the amount is approx. 4500.00. We have been divorced for 7 years and have 2 children together. I was very vulnerable when he asked for these loans, as my husband of a little over five years had just passed away and the money was from life insurance proceeds.

Re: personal loan repayment

If he agreed to pay the money back in weekly installments, but has missed payments, then you could file suit for breach of contract to recover amounts owed. I would recommend going to magistrate (small claims) court.
