possesion of methaphetimines
i was riding in a nissan pathfinder with a women who had meth in her possesion.we got pulled over for no tag on vechile.she was drivin on a suspended liscense. they asked for my id.ran a check on me it came back i had a bench warrant for jackson county.so they arrested me.asked me if they could search the vechile i told them icould not give permission to search the vechile it was not mine.they asked if they could search me i said yes they searched me and found nothing.they then searched the vechile and found in the womens purse 14 grams of meth.they informed me that since her purse was in the passenger side floorboard that i was under arrest for the meth. i didn't even know she had drugs in her possesion.i had just started dating her 1 week before. it was our second date.she has since told me that she told the cops i didn't even know about the drugs in her purse.my question is the state should drop the charges against me if she told them that i didn't know of the drugs she had on her right?

Re: possesion of methaphetimines
In a perfect world the answer would be yes. You can bear testimony to the fact that our world is not perfect. You need representation to develop the testimony of the woman further. I suspect there is a reasonable chance that you may get by this charge, however, I would not recommend waiting to see if the State will do the right thing. You need to do the right thing for you and get representation in both matters to get them cleared up in the least amount of time.
