Probation Violater

i was sentenced to the first offenders act in GA. Probation for 5 years. I moved back home to Ohio. I let my P.O know and she was ok with it but i just couldn't find a job to pay my fines. So now there's a warrant out for my arrest..My question is, how long does a warrant last? is there a certain time that it will be dropped. I want to take care of it but i don't wanna go to jail. Isn't there something called reprocity, where if they don't find u for a certain length of time. The warrant has to be dropped?

From the facts you have related, there are a number of issues you should be concerned about, aside from the question of how long a warrant will be valid.

The warrant for you arrest will be viable until you are arrested. If you were sentenced as a first offender, you face revocation of this status and resentencing. Your best chance to avoid going to jail is to employ counsel and try to resolve the situation through legal channels. Otherwise, you face the potential of being stopped for a routine traffic matter and being held on the warrant while the State of Georgia is contacted about having you returned to answer their legal process. Very inconvenient to say the least.
