Probation Violation/Extraditing in Georgia
My husband was put in jail and charged with parafanalia of a drug related item. The item belonged to his foreman on the job whom he was bringing to the store. When the officer seen them together he pulled them over and arrested my husband. She signed a waiver stating that it was not hers which everyone knows better. We have been informed that she is a '' narc'' and this is how she was released. My question is what do you think the punishment will be for this charge? Being around her in this situation I am sure was a violation of probation. They are talking about extraditing my husband back to the county (in the same state as us) for these charges. I don't know much about this and any information at all would be helpful since everyone seems to think that it is ok to treat anyone inquiring information on a inmate is ''scum.'' I am tired of this treatment and want to know more so that I am better informed on the rights we both have. As they say Knowlege is power and I plan to use it as such. Thank you in advance for any information you can give me regarding this situation. It will be very helpful my husband, my children, and I, will benefit greatly from such. Thank you.

Re: Probation Violation/Extraditing in Georgia
As you probably know, any new charge your husband has is considered a violation of probation. The county where he is on probation with will put a hold on him so he can't get out of jail on bond. They will then try to extradite him to have the probation revocation hearing. They can do this even before your husband is found guilty on the new charges (which hopefully won't happen).
However, the revocation hearing can usually be postponed until after the new charges are resolved, especially if you have an attorney that will have a working relationship with the jail and the probation system and especially if you have a good defense.
As always, the best course of action is to hire an attorney to help you sort everything out as every situation is unique, and generalized advise will only get you so far.
