If you are looking for a different court-appointed attorney, you would have to file some kind of motion or send some kind of letter to the judge making such a request and stating some reason why you want to change. You can also do that at your next court appearance. If you want to hire a private attorney to replace the court appointed attorney, you simply hire him/her and they will file a motion or notice to substitute counsel.
