Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

Public intoxication

Is it legal to arrest someone on private property for public intoxication? Officers drove by a private residence and saw my van running and being driven by a friend. I was in passenger seat and arrested for public intoxication after being asked my name only. Went to jail overnight and now facing fine. I wasn't driving or doing anything wrong. Driver was sober and turning van around in his driveway.

Should I plead not guilty and go to trial? What does public intoxication fall under what code? How can law enforcement drive by a home pull up in the driveway and arrest someone for public drunk just because I was intoxicated on my friends inside my own van?
