Question about Probation & Extradition

Can someone convicted of a misdemeanor (like disorderly) and sentenced to probabtion be extradited if (s)he flees to another state? I'm under the impression that only felonies get extraditions buy maybe I'm wrong. Is probabtion violation a felony? Would it matter if the flee occured before or after the conviction? If the person returned to another part of the state a while later could extradition be possible? Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about Probation & Extradition

Yes, you could be brought. The leaving of jurisdiction or non-reporting to probation could toll tha probation ... meaning it won't expire. There would be a warrent for your arrest placed on your file and when you applied for a driver's lic or were stopped for a traffic stop it would show up. You would then be arrested. Long and short ... running from it will never "just make the problem go away" ... you need to stay and face it.
