Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I was ask to come in for questioning concerning a crime. When I got ready to leave the investigating officers asked for my phone with no warrant. After refusing to give the phone they threatened to seize and impound my car. So I felt like I had no choice to turn it over. They wrote a receipt for my property but I did not sign it. Is there anything I can do to fight this?

One NEVER goes to talk to the police without counsel. That is always a mistake. Now that you have made things apparently worse by your mistake, don't make another. Get a lawyer. Do that not soon but tomorrow.
You went to talk to the police without an attorney, then consented to the police retaining your phone. END of conversation. You cannot fight your own stupidity.
