Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

questioning a victim by investigator working for defense attornet

I have 2 nieces that were molested by thier father several years ago. They are now 17 and 18 and the trial is up for next week. They are in Georgia and the defense attorney's wife/investigator showed up at thier house...they are now living with thier older brother who was not home at the time. This woman proceeded to question them about the case with no one else present. The prosecuting attorney said this was OK. How is this Ok. They were scared not to cooperate they are just kids and had no idea what to do. Advice?

Yes, it would seem that someone from the prosecutor's office should've been there while the girls were being questioned by the defense representatives, but, if the prosecutor has no problem with it nor anything which these girls might have told the investigator, then I suppose, neither should you.
