Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I reported a rape about a week and a half ago. Did my rape kit, and an interview with the SVU and they said there was probable cause but so far nothing has happened with it. They are interviewing my first witness in a few days but I don't think they have talked to the perp or anything else get. I feel like the investigation isn't going anywhere. What should I expect and what can I do?

Talk to the DA. Rushing a rape case can mean the rapist goes free. Odds are the kit isn't even tested yet. Rape cases are very difficult to prosecute and may take many weeks or months to hit even the first pretrial steps.
