Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

served time, not guilty

i took deal and served time in prison, but did not know how bad one of the crimes would affect me after i got out. i took the deal because they wanted to violate my probation and give me 10 years on probation charge. and if i took deal i would get 4 years. i took the deal and served 4 years, but one of the charges was child molestation which i was not guilty of. i did not know that this would be so bad until after i got out. can i go back and receive new trail for that or what can i do. i had to take a lie detector test after i got out and it shows that i am not guilty. and i have to go to a class 2 times a week. and i am on 10 years probation.

Re: served time, not guilty

In some narrow circumstances you can seek to withdraw your plea and ask for a new trial; however, your case does not fall into that catagory. Sorry, but the long and short is that you are out of luck.
