Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
shoplifting felony
My friend got charged with a felony for shoplifting. He is out on bond until his courtdate. Someone said he could get jail time since it is a felony. Will he most likely get jail time and if so, how long will his sentence be for?

Re: shoplifting felony
Really depends on a variety of factors, ie. age, criminal history, court, county, da and a host of other things that could mean the difference between jail time, probation, or a complete dismissal of the charges. Your friend really should consult with an attorney as all felonies are very serious matters and could result in substantial jail time. Feel free to give me a call for a free consultation and i will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
