Is what legal? There is no way to know what happened from your one sentence. He went to court drunk or on drugs? Either way, he needs a good criminal lawyer.

Is it legal to drug test a client that appears in court under the influence? YES, because one of the conditions of the bond for the trespassing is that he not consume drugs and alcohol. Your son probably has a problem with drugs and/or alcohol, and was jailed for either contempt of court, or violating his bond, irrespective of why he was originally arrested, Do you intend to deal with his alcohol issue?
