Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
I was stopped in my car by the police, right. They said they found marijuana in the car, so they arrested my husband and I and they impounded my vehical. However on the police report, they stated that they found the marijuana on my husband's person, so they dropped the charges against me. Now, the police still do not want to release my vehical to me, nor the property and effects that was still in my car, and it has been almost 30 days since the incident accured. They said they are holding it for evidence. How long can these police keep my things like this?

They may seize it and sell it under civil forfeiture laws in which case you will lose the car. You need to get a lawyer immediately. (I do not do such type cases).
