Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

My had to turn himself in due to new charges , the new charges were traffic charges all misdemeanor charges.

At this time he is currently incarcerated in Chatham county jail , he has had no contact with any attorney. He went to court for the traffic violations and was offered 24mths to do 12mths. Then later came back later with a simple battery charge. The young lady he was in the car with was subpena she has since declined to not testify against my son.

She was then told if she didn't then charges can be brought up against her, since the car that was hit in the accident was a clerk of a chatham county judge.

In any event, if there is someone in jail you care about, you'd be hiring them a lawyer. Have you done that? If not, why not? Letting someone go to court without counsel greatly increases the chance things will go badly.

This is why I charge a consult, because many folks want to come in and talk, and bounce ideas off of me. The question at the end is: Does this sound right? When the real answer to any question posed is: You need to hire an experienced attorney, so the attorney can assist your son.
