Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

me and my wife had an argument and i left and headed to town to get away she somehow got ahead of me and stop me in my tracks so i went in reverse down the street untill i finilly stoped and ran,she gave chase in her car then i ran back to my car and left and she was then on my tail i made it down the street to her parents house and then the police showed up. they told us to seperate for 24 hours so we did and actully for 5 days! this all happened on a saturday, on monday they came to my job and told me i had to come down to the station,when i did i was questioned about the incident and then ask to write it in a statment and i did and then was told that they were going to try to charge my wife with kidnapping,assalt and battery and crulty to children because my 18 month old child was in her carseat of my wife's car at the time of the incident.as you probly can imagine im devestated, there were two other people who suppossibly gave statements. me and my wife have reconciled.we live in a very small town and the police are trying to turn a disagreement in to a very big deal,i never wanted any of this to happen.they have not arrested her and it,s been a week now. we have to small children and my wife is a stay at home mother it would be the worst thing that could ever happen if my wife goes to jail is their any thing i can do to help this situation please help this poor father in a small town... please!!!

Both of you need to get separate good criminal lawyers. Since each of you could be prosecuted, one lawyer cannot do both cases. The lawyers can advise you on options and how to best address the cases.
