Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia
wrongful conviction
years ago my ex and I got into a dispute. I slaped her only after she tried to stab me and I was arrested. Now when I went to court the DA said she would reduce the charges to simple assault if I pled guilty and it would be all over with that day. so I did. Now I learned that I was charged with battery and am now convicted under domestic violence. I called the DA recently and tried to understand what I could do to clear my name and she said there was nothing. I am not a violent person and for the most part lead a decent life but with this on my record I find it very hard to progress in life.
I want to know what rights do I have to clear my name and if it is possible to overturn the ruling from so many years ago.

Re: wrongful conviction
As long as "adjudication was withheld," and as long as you have no other record of conviction, you should be able to have your record sealed.
