Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia
My daughter got terminated by her job on October 8,2012. She applied for unemployment, by filling the proper paperwork. It was approved by somebody cause 2-3 weeks later she started receiving unemployment checks. She did her requirements for every week in doing applications at different locations. 2nd week in March she got employment. She inform the unemployment place, everything was fine, she didn't continue the unemployment since she was working. Now she's being asked to pay back her unemployment money. The headquarters of the old company wants her to pay it back. I'm thinking somebody approved it I think from the company for her to get it or the company made a mistake by not appealing it in time for the department of labor. She has an appeal on the company's behalf that she has to attend on July 29. Does anybody have any ideas in what to do. This is causing a lot of stress on her being a single parent. She really can't afford an attorney. I think she should get a attorney and go after the company first of all terminating her for being 17 minutes after her hours. Can somebody give us some advice?

In spite of the long post, we don't know why her unemployment is being contested, what possible grounds she has to sue her employer (disagreeing with the termination is not grounds), or what the post has to do with the topic of discrimination. In other words, what are the actual facts of the dispute?
