Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

Employment Issue

I recently interviewed for a position with a company that I've worked for in the past and I was told by my former supervisor that her manager said he wasn't hiring any new hires. I know that there a several rehires currently working for the company and the department and my personnel record did not denote any negativity about my job performance. Is it legal that he can do that?

Re: Employment Issue

Is it "legal" for an employer to choose who to hire (or fire, lay off, etc.)? Of course it is. There is generally no right to a job.

There are a very few limits, involving discrimination for race, age, etc., and even though you posted this under the discrimination category the only facts you provided were that some people were rehired and you were not.
