Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia

Legal Age

i need to know all the laws about the legal age in Georgia. i have heard different things. i know in Georgia you are an official adult at the age of 17, but what does that really mean. for instance, my best friend is 17, has her GED, is in college, and has a job. does this mean that legaly she can move out of her parents house? her parents are very bad parents, they dont physically abuse her or anything like that it is more of an emotional thing. she also has diabetes really bad and when she gets emotional it makes her sick so her parents really dont help there at all. please just send me some answers asap. i am tired of seeing my best freind like this all the time. thank you so very much!!!!!

Re: Legal Age

There are differing ages for differing situations, e.g. the age of sexual consent is 16; however, in general, a person under the age of 18 is a minor and must have a guardian. There is always the option of becoming emancipated.

Re: Legal Age

Generally the legal age is 18 however there are exceptions such as the legal age for drinking in Georgia is 21 while the age at which one can consent to sexual relations is 16.
