Refused entrance to nightclub based on my gender
I recently went to a nude dance club in Columbus Georgia with my sister. We were not permitted to enter. The only explanation given was that we are female and cannot enter without a male. I feel angry and discriminated against. Is this legal in 1999?

I don't know. I suspect that it is legal. I'd like to know myself, frankly.
Believe it or not, I suspect
the policy is in place to prevent prostitution as well as for your own safety. If they let you in and then some drunk attacked you somehow, might they not then be liable? I don't know, but I think
it's probably a good idea. Not a pleasant place for a woman and your presence there alone could be seen as an invitation you don't intend.
