Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Georgia
Religious Discrimintaion
I work in a local restraunt with more than 15 employees. Someone was brought in an I was to train them in how to runn the station that I was running, with the Idea that I was going to be trained on a different station. With the new person trained my hours were cut from 40 hrs to 22 and a half hours next week. I was told the only way to get more hours was to work on Sundays which I put on my application that I could not work. I explained that this was due to going to church and my responsibility their. I this a violation of any law, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

Re: Religious Discrimintaion
If you are asking if it illegal to cut someone's hours, no, it is not illegal. I did not hear anything in your posting that indicated the cutback was based on discriminatory reason or due to your religion.
