arrest warrant and social security benefits
An arrest warrant was issued in Chatham County, GA, in 2005. In January 2008 I was detained by a custom officer at Miami International Airport because the warrant showed up in their computer, but the officer told me that GA was not going to extradite and let me go. In September 2008 the Social Security Admistration informed me they were going to cut my retirement benefits unless I could show via a written document from the warrant issuing agency that either the warrant has been withdrawn or that they will not extradite. I live in Miami, FL. I was visiting GA in May 2004 when I was arrested. What should I do?

Depends on what the warrant was for. More than likely it's nothing serious if they just let you go once. Either way you need to get it taken care of before it affects your life even more.
You should hire an attorney in Savannah (biggest city in Chatham) to handle the situation. They should be able to work something out where you can just show up only once, but more than likely you'll have to show up at least once.
