DUI in 1986
Hello,
I am being asked on an employment application if I was ever convicted of a misdemeanor other than a parking ticket or minor traffic violation. I once was convicted of a DUI in 1986. Is this considered a major traffic violation, and how should I answer?

A DUI conviction is considered a major traffic offense, since it results in a suspended license. A DUI conviction, no matter how old, is public record and will be revealed through a background check.
