what are the Guidelines for retaining a DUI laywer?
After a free consultation with a DUI and he manages to sell his/her services and expert advise as well as agree on a representation fee, and after 2 to 3 weeks 3/4 of the fee is paid .What are the the expectations and procedures of the laywer from that point.

You're the boss. If you've paid the attorney the retainer, it may take 6 weeks or so for the attorney to gather all information needed to further advise you. But if you haven't heard from your attorney, pick up the phone or shoot him/her an email and ask what's going on. The attorney or assistant should be able to tell you when your next court date is, what info they have and what info they might need from you.
