Legal Question in DUI Law in Georgia

MIlitary Dui

I was arrested by the military police on a military post in GA 9 yrs ago. The state had nothing to do with my punishment but now has a hold on my license. They told me there was no conviction in their records but still will not lift the hold without dui classes and a $210 restoration fee or record of no guilt from a court. I was never in court or ordered to attend DUI classes. What can I do?

PA requires those convicted of DUI to complete certain tasks prior to obtaining a valid driver's license. You need to obtain a restoration requirements letter from Penn DOT and a copy of your ten year driving record. These two documents will help you determine what you can do, but an experienced driver's license attorney can help you determine the best route for you to take to resolve this issue.

Were you actually convicted? If so, of what? Perhaps a record from the military court would be helpful also. If you would like my help, give me a call or email me personally. Remember, if Penn DOT had their way, no one but out of state drivers would be permitted to drive on PA roads. Penn DOT only averages about 40% on the accuracy of their advice. Also, any advice Penn DOT gives is not in your best interest.

Good luck.
