Legal Question in DUI Law in Georgia

Probation violation

About 10 yrs ago I got a DUI and for various personal reasons was unable to fullfill terms of probation.

How can I clean up my record and get my license back without jail? I have a sick spouse (He just had open heart surgery and almost died) who needs me at home and able to drive. I'm willing to come clean but my going to jail would be pointless and detremental to an innocent person. What can I do?

Re: Probation violation

If it has been 10 yrs. since the conviction and the probationary period has elapsed, the sentence has probably dropped off of your record. You should be able to just complete a DUI driving school program in order to get your license back. The best way to handle it is for either you or your attorney to contact the clerk's office in the county where you got the DUI, or you can try the DMV, and find out what terms you need to fulfill to get your license back. Don't worry-you probably won't be facing any jail time.
