Legal Question in Education Law in Georgia
My question is about the financial practices of American Universities. Public Universities in the United States nearly all charge different tuition prices on the basis of state residency. Taking a college in my home state for example, according to the University of Georgia's website, the tuition for a resident of Georgia is $9,472 and the tuition for a non-resident of Georgia is $27,682. Since the costs of educating a Georgian do not exceed the costs of educating an American from any other state, is this am example of Price Discrimination and therefore considered "illegal" under the Robinson-Patman Act?
