Legal Question in Education Law in Georgia
Student Teacher Contact
I recently found my teachers phone number online. I called him and left him a voicemail (outside of school, with no vulgar content). He wrote me up, and the faculty has decided to give me suspension. They gave me no reasons why except ''...what you did was wrong.'' Legally, can they do this? More importantly, are the allowed to punish me at all, for something i did outside of school?

Re: Student Teacher Contact
You need to talk to a lawyer very soon. I do not believe the school board can write you up for conduct after school. If the content was not vulgar, the First Amendment protects your right to communicate with a teacher.
