what assets can a nursing home seize? the individual in question has a home for sale in Florida, a car that is paid for and various home furnishings. Would it be possible to transfer these assets to another individual. The nursing home will be paid via medicare and medicaid. Please advise.

See an elder lawyer immediately. Transfers of assets can disqualify a person for Medicare and Medicaid, so do not do anything without first seeing a lawyer.
