Re: child rights

Dear Sir or Madam:

You could try to get appointed as guardian for your dad if he is not competent to take care of himself. If he is competent, and does not want you to be guardian, then your options are very limited.

Let me know if I can help.

Re: child rights

If your dad lives in Alabama, you can petition the court to be appointed guardian but as the Georgia lawyer said, if he is competent, you won't have much luck. However, if he exhibits behavior that places himself or others in jeopardy, you can have him involuntarily committed for evaulation and then file your petition for Guardianship, and that would have a higher chance of success.
