Medicaid transfer rules
If an elder parent has transferred ownership of a house that would
incur a 10-month Medicaid penalty and two months later
transferred savings that would incur a 25-month penalty, do the
penalties run concurrently? Will the father be eligible for Medicaid
in 25 months, or will it be 35 months?

Re: Medicaid transfer rules
You stack the penalty peroids for a grand total of 35 months. Be sure to check the new estate recovery laws (enacted on 8-5-04)for how the transfers will be viewed and remember to file a gift tax return.
