I am the power of attorney for my 90 yr old aunt who has been in an assisted living home for 4 years. I pay all of her bills and attend to her needs. Recently she fell and broke her hip and they allowed her to lay in pain for a week before sending her to the hospital. I met with an attorney yesterday. My question is, if there is a settlement, will I be required to share it with any other relatives although they take no part in her care? She has sisters who are in their eighties and step children who hate her. They know nothing about me considering legal action. Please advise.
Thanks.

Your attorney is best equiped to answer, but generally such a settlement would be hers and used for her care.
I am not sure what you are asking? What do you mean will you have to share it? Is she has a claim, it is HER claim and HER money if there is a recovery. From your post, you somehow believe the money is yours. Stealing her money with a power of attorney is a very good way to get sued, and perhaps spend some time in jail. The fact that you asked the question as you did raises some big red flags.
