Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Georgia

Border Crossing Documentary Film

I have a film documenting the

smuggling of an illegal across the US-

Mexico border. This is from a first

person perspective, documenting the

entire process. Would there be any

legal repercussions for myself, the

smugglers, or the illegal immigrant in

publishing the film? Are there any

measures I can take, such as

blurring faces, or having a

disclaimer?

Re: Border Crossing Documentary Film

This is a very complex question. Probably more complex then really can be addressed on a bulletin board. The legal repercussion for you the film maker is unclear. However, for the smugglers and the immigrants the film can be seized by law enforcement to be used in identifying them and maybe as evidence of the crimes that they committed. Blurring the faces may not be effective because law enforcement would want the untouched up film. Contact me if you want to discuss this further.
