Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Georgia

Copyright infringment

I am a film maker and i hired a camera guy to shoot the film. Now he has placed my footage on his website under his production company name. He was only hired as a cinematographer on the film. The footage was placed on the site with out my permission and or knowledge. Isnt that an infringement on my copyright? Please advise. Thanks kp

Re: Copyright infringment

Depending on the relationship and contracts in place with the cameraman, you should have the IP rights to the film. So, the cameraman would be infringing on your rights to the film. You would need to send a cease and desist letter and possibly sue for damages.
