I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. Copyright protection applies automatically as soon as the work is in tangible form - book, video, etc. However, attaching a copyright notice will preclude a user from claiming innocent infringement. This commonly appears in the form of "� (year of publication) (author or owner)." You have the option to register the copyright, which will help you if you have to enforce your rights.
