Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am 37 and my kids mom past away a year agoe her mom took my kids and I just found them thrue facebook, she does not whant me in there life so she took them to newyork and i think she filed for custody . i raise them untill 1 year before she died , my oldest was 11 at the time ,and he is now 14 and in highscool, what can I do legaly to get them back , I dont whant any problems , sense they have been thrue so much at a yung age
