Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My 3 year old son's father and I have been cohabitating for five years. We are not married and we are contemplating a break up. I've done the research on child custody as it relates to our situation and I would like full custody of our son. My question is when decidig custody, is it safe to assume that the court will consider the fact that my son's father was accused of stalking a woman one year ago and there was a Temporary Protective Order issued against him? this incident was highly publicized due to the fact that he was a police officer at the time and lost his job because of the stalking charge. He was also accused of harassing phone calls in another instance but that has been expunged from his record. My record is clean without so much as a traffic stop. I am employed in a supervisory level position with the Department of Family and Children Services and I'm able to support my child without assistance from his father. I am also a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

You're asking people who have not heard both sides of a case to guess an outcome. That's impossible, Obviously the things you mention would be considered (and important), but more significantly courts look at parenting skills and tend to look towards maximizing the time children spend with both parents.
I am surprised that a person in your field would make a comment that will really hurt you with a judge (implying you don't need the father's support means you are trying to waive a valuable right that belongs to the child and could be used to show your unfitness, so you badly need legal counsel to deal appropriately with the presentation of your case).
