Adult Adoption

I was adopted as a baby but have had no contact with my legas parents for several years. I do have and have had a very good relationship with my birth father and step mother. We would like to know how to go about doing an adult adoption so that they would now be my legal parents. We would also have to do a legal name change for my wife.

I would imagine that all states have a procedure similar to that in GA. However, because of variations in state laws, you should contact a local attorney. (I couldn't tell whether you are in AZ or GA.) Typically, you file a petition in the superior court in the county of your residence.
