Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Adultery

My husband filed for divorce at the beginning of this month. I still have access to the house and found evidence of him committing adultery. Even though the divorce isn't final and won't be for a while, can he be in trouble for committing adultery??? What is legal and not in that aspect? The papers were filed yesterday with the courts.

Re: Adultery

Adultery is not criminally illegal in Georgia. However, your husbands infidelities will probably be considered by the court so I would document his actions and give the proof to your divorce lawyer.

Re: Adultery

Only divorce that CAUSES a separation is a grounds for divorce. It is still something you should tell your lawyer.

Bear in mind that if the divorce was filed early this month, your 30 days to answer is nearly over.
