advantages of using joint attorney

is there an advantage to a husband and wife using the same attorney in a divorce proceedings when there is no children involved.,especially since the wife hire the attorney orginally..would the attorney more apt to side with the wife on items instead of treating both equal...would it be better that the husband hire his own attorney to look out for his best interest...there is a home not paid for,cars,husband's retirement,an alot of debt

You won't find an attorney who will do this. It's a violation of bar rules and very unethical. Often, in an uncontested divorce, only one party hires counsel, but that lawyer can't advise the other party at all.

One attorney CANNOT represent both sides in a divorce case. Having said that, it happens all the time that only one attorney is involved. In this case, because of the somewhat complicated financial doings, I would advise the husband to hire his own attorney.
