Age to move out and not be considered a minor
What age can a child legally move out of their custodial parents household? He would not be moving in with another parent or relative. What are the conditions that would allow a child to move out and not be considered to be under their parents control? Do they have to self-supporting? My son says 17 is the legal age to move out and just go stay with your buddies, is this correct?

When a child reaches the age of 17, there is nothing more that you can do to force him back home. He no longer can have a status offense of runaway and is no longer subject to the juveinle court. If you son chooses to move out, you would need to emancipate him because you still are liable to a certain extent until he is 18.
