Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Alimoney not being paid

My ex husband claims he can no longer pay the alimoney he was ordered to pay due to him not being able to work. He claims his health prevents him from working. I don't know what rights I have. He owes me for another 2 years. He has remarried and his current wife owns her own business. I suspect he is working but so far can't prove it. Is there anything that I can do on my own to get him to pay. I don't have the money to hire an attorney. Any advised would be much appreciated.

Re: Alimoney not being paid

You can undertake this yourself, but you had better know the procedures. You should consult with a local attorney about taking the case on the strength of the idea that if your claims are proven, an award of attorneys fees may well be entered.
