Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Alimony and Child Support

My wife and I have just decided to get a divorce, irreconcilable differences of course. We have been married for 11 years, have 2 children, and she has not worked except for the last couple of years in which she has held various part time positions. I certainly understand and am willing to pay alimony and child support but I am having some difficulty in determining how much I should pay, at least until we can obtain attorneys to help with this. My wife of course is asking for 50% in alimony and another 25% for child support. Like I said, I am fully willing to pay but I don't want to overextend my offering either. Can you give me any advice as to what I should be paying at this point?

Determination of suggested temporary support requires that an attorney have access the the income information and living expenses of both spouses and the children. Your best option is to select an attorney to start representing your interests.
