Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

alimony modification

How do I pursue my alimony modification after paying for 20 years. My lawyer fees have exceeded what I can afford. I want to continue this on my own to get it before the judge. Litigation has been going on for six months. The opposing attorney has succeeded in keeping it out of court.

Can you give me procedure on how to file in court to get a court date?

Thank you.

Re: alimony modification

You will need to request a hearing through the judge's calendar clerk. Each court has slightly different proceedures to do this. Basically you need to request a hearing date and thenm notify the opposing counsel of the date.
