Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
alimony
I n my girlfriends divorce papers it gives the alimony ammounts and length of time. The last line reads ''or until the wife remarries, dies lives in a meritorious relationship, or the husband dies whichever comes first.
The question is,what exactly does meritorious relationship mean? Is it misworded?
Thank you

Re: alimony
Meretricious is the word you mean. It means a sexual relationship. I think it means you are living with someone and having sex. The only legal interpretation that counts would be the judge that hears the case.
