Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am anxious to get my divorce finalized for emotional and financial reasons. My attorney tells me he is waiting to be GIVEN a court date. After months of being patient and constantly calling my attorney with my phone calls RARELY being returned I decided to call the courthouse and request a date myself. I was told that all my attorney has to do is call and REQUEST a final hearing date. As I said i have been waiting for a final hearing date for months, meanwhile I am paying my wife $1000 a month in temporary alimony and another $1000 in child support. When my 2 girls visit I am literally too broke to even by them a pizza or take them anywhere. I have even had to take out a loan because I got so far behind on bills. My truck is now at risk for repossession. We have been separated for almost 2 yrs. I am always broke and I am so ready to move on. PLEASE advise me on what I can do.
