Arrear Payments, Warrant

My fiance has a warrant because he was $3000 in the arrear. He contacted the child support office, atlanta, ga and informed them that he was sending $1700 now and $1700 2 wks later. He also asked where to send $1700. The person told him to the child support office where he sends the montly payments. He later found out from a supervisor of the child support office that he should have sent the entire amount at once. The money will be put in an account and issued monthly. How can he get credit for the $1700 going to the arrears. He also wants to appear for a modification b/c he is not making the money he was making when the child was born.

Your fiance should follow-up with written notice to the child support office where he sent the $1700 that this sum is for payment on arrearages, although it's possible they'll take out first whatever is due for current support for the month in which the payment weas received.

In order to have his request for a modification of the order considered, your fiance must go to the court(apparently in Georgia)which has jurisdiction over this matter and file a formal request to be heard with notice to the opposing party.
