Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Ex trying to arrest me for child abandonment

Divorced in 2000.She has custody of 1 of our children , and I the other.I have to pay her $300 a month plus $100 for back support. This is the second time she tried this. 1st time the judge dismissed this cuz she did'nt show up and I had proof that I was paying.5 months later I got fired. While looking for a job , I re injured my back.my son & I had to move in with my mother.I am unable to stand for any length of time, much less work. Now Exwife is taking me to court for abandonment again(but not in the county suppot was granted). I am afraid that I will be put in jail because of my injury. She lives with her parents and has no bills. The money I did give her did'nt go to the child. She used it for pedicures, and cigarettes. She is capable of working but refuses to.What can I do to avoid jail?

You need to ask the court to modify the support decree based on your new situation and inability to work.
